I gotta agree with you, Jammin...TTG's one-of-a-kind and while I've not always agreed with him or his occasional approaches, I gotta admit he's an original & I've gotten a whole lot more respect for the guy in the last couple months.

As for suckee...well, as offensive as his screen-name may be for some, I guess we can't fault the guy for being proud of his vocation. Advertising it on the net probably beats word-of-mouth at the Port Authority men's room.

Much as this guy spits, you gotta wonder if he swallows.

Later.

Hey Dire...glad I could help you out with the grin & happy to hear you're back to work & getting back into the swing of things. The month I was out recently about made me loopy.

Generally speaking, I agree with Cliff & the others that responding to this jack-off only encourages him & plays straight into his fun & games. What can I say? Sometimes "you" just get bored enough where "you" gotta kick a turd...

Ghost: I guess if I must do penance, Portchester's a sweet place to do it. First Deal & Bird, right? Frigging great run.

So far, I've been making my acts of contrition with

http://www.archive.org/details/gd69-10-25.sbd.jagla.81.sbefail.shnf

A partial Winterland show, but a sweet-ass Dark Star & Stills sitting in on Lovelight. But I'm too earnest a sinner to not feel compelled towards Portchester... (Gotta get right with God, right?)

Great post(!) in the "Ron McKernan" post the other day, BTW. I've been spending some time revisiting Copenhagen the last couple days with the idea of a post.

Peace.

Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Hijacking a bad thread for a good purpose

I probably wrote this already somewhere. Waaay back in 1972, a very hissy, slightly fast copy of the 4-14-72 tape made it into my greasy little hands. Just the Good Lovin segment. At that time, all I knew was that Pig had "retired." Not knowing what came afterwards on that tour, I listened to the tape and I heard the clear cry of an anguished man--a man in pain. Little did I know. When he died, I got drunk (I rarely did then and never do now--not my thing) and played that tape several times (quite a few friends joined in). It seemed as if it were actually a swan song of sorts--a last yawp, and a fine one at that.

I cannot praise that version enough. There is no better Pig, and there aren't many better Dead jams--plenty as good, perhaps, but few better. God how Jerry moans with Pig, and Keith's piano chording also seems to carry a somber urgency to it.

Any who hasn't listened to this tape--you're going to hell.

This is your shot at redemption.

As for hijacking a bad thread for a good purpose...goddamn right! Roses from fertilizer!

C'mon, ye sinners, belly-up to the altar & get right with God...

In the name of religious diversity:

http://www.archive.org/details/gd84-10-12.aud.ladner.xxxxx.sbeok.flacf

And, yes, I know I left the Vince-era out. I can't speak intelligibly enough about it...but y'all have got my attention. Someone turn me on. Blow my mind.

And maybe, perhaps that's what we should do about suckee & his ilk: rather than flame the peckerhead or even ignore him, just STACK the responses with monster show-links.

Fuck flaming, I just need a good Dew...

Peace.

Geee-zus, you weren't kidding! Thanx for that!

I had a blast in '83 & am now scratching my head wondering why I'd been completely ignorant of this show till now. Sheltered life, I guess.

Thank you!

1. Thanks for the unexpected respect and defense.

2. I ain't smiles but I think he may be the infamous Mr Talent, QuimbytheMouse, crunchylives2@yahoo.com, glenn, ceramicpenis and a few other logins that are doing multi-hate reviews on noisecollectors songs claiming to be a 21 year veteran studio engineer but can't name one song he did or post up a single note of his own music.

3. Ask Dire, Chris Freedom and Rastamon... they know what my deal is.

i have been getting threats and porn spams and tons of crap from that joker because i sent an email to what i thought was a photo contributer to one of the NoiseCollector songs. he sends me curses and threats and created even more yahoo email adresses to send me even more stuff from... i fowarded it to yahoo and friend on here notified one of the moderators at archive about it as well. the 90's are over, teenager stuff is not in vogue anymore and is just stupid. why would someone start attacking people like that?

You'll be happy to know those email accounts were shut down by yahoo, I tried to send a few hundred emails myself to that idiot and they are cancelled!

I am sure they will be back with other logins if IA does not start verifying email addresses used in creating them.

One of these daze we gotta thank suckee for letting us just take his thread away from him. It's gotten me turned on to Saratoga '83 & doing Portchester for penance... Oh the humanity...

For pure penance, you must play all the studio l.p.s in order.

I'd weigh in on the oral thing, but, uh, well, er, that is, hmm, considering the last time I commented on said activity, I got in trouble.

All I will say is that 10 dollars seems cheap in today's market. Of course, for Pig, that would be expensive!

I guess I erred in responding first; maybe this one will be last!
